MENU SUGGESTIONS

We are pleased to offer the following five menu suggestions to you for your stay at Rose Lindsay Cottage.
All menus are subject to availability and need to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.

We offer completely private dining – there are no other guests, much better than any Sydney hotels or Blue Mountains restaurants, and you don’t have to drive to get there.  Or to get back!  So you can enjoy the special celebratory bottle of wine you have chosen.

Options include a BBQ next to the Frog Pond here in the grounds, a private candlelight dinner either in the Dining Room or in The Loft, a platter of your choice, or a picnic to take out with you.  Great local picnic sites include the Grose Wilderness cliff top, an easy cycle ride from here, and Euroka Clearing in Blue Mountains National Park, with the local kangaroos and cockatoos.

A three course candlelit dinner - Cost: $49.50/head
A two course candlelit dinner - Cost: $38.50/head

One choice per course, please

Entree
Dill scones with smoked salmon and cream cheese
Steamed asparagus with a havarti and caper sauce
French cheese puffs
Roasted sweet potato and nutmeg soup with sourdough bread
Beetroot, goat's cheese and pistachio salad
Salmon rillettes - smoked salmon in a home-made mustard mayonnaise with greens and sourdough
Ginger, soy and garlic marinated prawns

Main course
Rack of lamb with potatoes and seasonal fresh vegetables
Beef burgundy with parsley potatoes and seasonal fresh vegetables
Chicken cacciatore with spiral pasta and seasonal fresh vegetables
Spiced Moroccan lamb with couscous and seasonal fresh vegetables
Curried vegetable parcels with seasonal fresh vegetables
Baked trout with lemongrass and coconut
Grilled swordfish steaks with roast tomatoes, olives and capers
Steak with caper and anchovy stuffing and crushed potatoes

Dessert
Italian pear tarte with lemon myrtle syrup and double cream
Individual cream cheese tarts with fresh fruit
Chocolate mousse cake with raspberry puree and double cream
Stuffed peaches with amaretti biscuits (in season)
Cinnamon pears with macadamia crumble with home made custard
White chocolate mousse with strawberries and double cream
Double chocolate self saucing pudding with double cream

 

MENU 2
A BBQ platter for two - Cost: $66.00
A BBQ platter big enough for two including fresh salads and bread. Cook it yourselves on our easy gas BBQ and enjoy an open fire around the outdoor fire-pit. Utensils and crockery etc. provided.
MENU 3
Antipasto platter for two - Cost: $66.00
An antipasto platter big enough for two including cold meats, cheeses, accompaniments and bread for you to enjoy outdoors on a warm summer evening or around the fire in the cool winter months.
MENU 4
Home made soup, bread and cheese - Cost: $22.00/head
Home made soup with hot bread followed by an assortment of Australian cheeses.
Just the thing to enjoy around the fire. Perfect for a late arrival.
